7 (13) So in the lower parts of the space behind the wall, I stationed men according to their families, with their swords, spears and bows. 8 (14) After inspecting them, I stood up and addressed the nobles, leaders and the rest of the people: “Don’t be afraid of them! Remember Adonai, who is great and fearful; and fight for your brothers, sons, daughters, wives and homes.”
It is one thing to fight for money or land it is a wholly different matter to fight for the family in our Lords house. Nehemiah was wise enough to station troops near their families to inspire them, Adonai was faithful to their willingness so they didn’t have to fight. I am thankful as a member of the security team for the congrgation that Rabbi has placed me there for protection of kith and kin, but Adonai has already given victory so none try to breech our security.
