Psalm 55:21-23

21 (20) [My companion] attacked those
who were at peace with him;
he broke his solemn word.
22 (21) What he said sounded smoother than butter,
but his heart was at war.
His words seemed more soothing than oil,
but in fact they were sharp swords.

23 (22) Unload your burden on Adonai,
and he will sustain you.
He will never permit
the righteous to be moved.

I have experienced slander and gossip against me a lot. I don’t believe you can live in this time when perception overrules truth and not feel the effects of a wicked person’s tounge. Yet it has been with prayer and standing with Adonai that has been the most effective way to confront gossip. God protects His own.
