James 3:13-17

13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him demonstrate it by his good way of life, by actions done in the humility that grows out of wisdom. 14 But if you harbor in your hearts bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, don’t boast and attack the truth with lies! 15 This wisdom is not the kind that comes down from above; on the contrary, it is worldly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where there are jealousy and selfish ambition, there will be disharmony and every foul practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is, first of all, pure, then peaceful, kind, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

I do not claim to be wise and my actions agree with that. I have made so many bad decisions that they are affecting my life today. Yet in the past six years I have found true wisdom in God’s Word, and measuring my actions against that, my life and my witness are improving by the mercy God has shown me.

Isaiah 24:4-6

4 The land fades and withers,
the world wilts and withers,
the exalted of the land languish.
5 The land lies defiled under its inhabitants;
because they have transgressed the teachings,
changed the law
and broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore a curse is devouring the land,
and its inhabitants are punished for their guilt.
It is why those living there waste away,
and the people left are few.

This is the state of our nation now. We have withdrawn ourselves so far away from God the land itself is failing under our feet. Scouching drought, massive floods, record storms and earthquakes. God forgive us and flood us with Your Spirit to turn us back to You.

Hebrews 11:1-2

Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see. 2 It was for this that Scripture attested the merit of the people of old.

There is nothing else that brings salvation, only trusting in Yeshua”s sacrifice to redeem us to Adonai. Not our deeds, not our knowledge, not our acknowledgement only trust brings salvation the infilling of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)

The Body

Hebrews 10:24-25

24 And let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds, 25 not neglecting our own congregational meetings, as some have made a practice of doing, but, rather, encouraging each other.

We need people in our lives, and the people we surrond ourselves with reflect our values. By coming together as a body of believers we can encourage learning the Word as guided by the Ruach, the Spirit.

Hebrews 9:22

22 In fact, according to the Torah, almost everything is purified with blood; indeed, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

One cannot receive salvation unless we trust in the the sacrifice of Yeshua, Jesus. Someone has to die for the evil we commit against Adonai, either ourselves damned to hell forever or Yeshua showing us the greatest love by dieing for the sake of others.

Be Used

Isaiah 10:15

15 Should the axe glorify itself
over the one who chops with it?
Should the saw magnify itself
over the one who moves it?
It’s as if a stick could wave
the hand that raises it up,
or as if a wooden staff could lift
[a person, who is] not made of wood.

When we are being used by God all the glory is His, we are just instruments in His hands. Abba don’t let my pride get in the way of serving You, amen.

Micah 6:8

8 Human being, you have already been told
what is good, what Adonai demands of you —
no more than to act justly, love grace
and walk in purity with your God.

Trusting in Adonai is simple it is when we start adding our own perceptions of how that should be that we get in trouble and sects and divisions in the body of believers occur. Lord keep me from making my own rules and worshiping You as You want not as I desire.

Trust but verify

Micah 2:11
11 If a man who walks in wind and falsehood
tells this lie: “I will preach to you
of [how good it is to drink] wine and strong liquor” —
this people will accept him as their preacher!

This nation can no longer tolerate men who preach for their own aggenda and not God’s. We as believers must be as the good people of Berea and compare all preaching to see if it lines up with the Word. Too much self serving doctrine has divided us as a body of believers and as a nation. Lord fill me with Your Spirit to always cling to your word.

Hebrews 5:11-14

11 We have much to say about this subject, but it is hard to explain, because you have become sluggish in understanding. 12 For although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the very first principles of God’s Word all over again! You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who has to drink milk is still a baby, without experience in applying the Word about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties have been trained by continuous exercise to distinguish good from evil.

How many years have I been the man Sha’ul is chastising. I knew of God and believed He existed but I did not trust in God fully to lead my life so I was stuck always on the milk of Twitter-esk versions of His Word. How much more has my life improved with a daily study of His Word!! Truely I understand the psalmist when he wrote “taste and see,” thank you Adonai for the meat of Your Word.

Hosea 10:12
12 If you sow righteousness for yourselves,
you will reap according to grace.
Break up unused ground for yourselves,
because it is time to seek Adonai,
till he comes and rains down
righteousness upon you.
We as belivers must never stop pursuing righteousness.  There is always “new ground” in our lives that we must dedicate to God. It is with that contued work that we draw closer to Him.
