1 Timothy 2:1-6
Therefore, first of all I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made on behalf of all people— for kings and all who are in authority—so we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and respectfulness. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior. He desires all men to be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and there is one Mediator between God and men—a human, Messiah Yeshua, who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony at the proper time.
I can and do pray often for the leadership in our country, what I am worse at is praying for people to come to know Yeshua, and it is my shame for it. For me prayer has always been hard to get started. It is a private thing, a conversation between me and God. Because of that I am usually the main topic of that discussion, rejoicing in the blessings God has given and asking for provision in other aspects of my life. Other people just don’t come up. Abba forgive me for my shortcomings, put the weight for people on my heart and give me the desire to pray as you have given me the desire to serve. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.
