Mindset

Psalm 104:34
May my musings be pleasing to him;
I will rejoice in ADONAI.

All my thoughts should be focused on ADONAI. It is only when I have purified my spirit through trusting in Yeshua’s sacrifice, accepting the blood that he paid for my sin, that I can focus on what ADONAI wants for me. Then all my thoughts can turn to Him and show His love to others through my actions. Abba let me always place You first in my mind. Let my very thoughts proclaim Your glory. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Our Source

Titus 1:15-16
To all who are themselves pure, everything is pure. But to those who are defiled and without trust, nothing is pure—even their minds and consciences have been defiled. They claim to know God, but with their actions they deny him. They are detestable and disobedient; they have proved themselves unfit to do anything good.

It is a matter of the heart and soul of a person, if you are committed to ADONAI then your actions are pure, if you are committed to selfishness then your actions are defieled. It is only when we set aside our selfish desires and consecrate ourselves to ADONAI in trusting in the sacrifice of Yeshua that our actions can reflect the love of God for others through us. Lord let me be your instrument so all may see Your love for them. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Know Truth

2 Timothy 4:1-4
I solemnly charge you before God and the Messiah Yeshua, who will judge the living and the dead when he appears and establishes his Kingdom: proclaim the Word! Be on hand with it whether the time seems right or not. Convict, censure and exhort with unfailing patience and with teaching.
For the time is coming when people will not have patience for sound teaching, but will cater to their passions and gather around themselves teachers who say whatever their ears itch to hear. Yes, they will stop listening to the truth, but will turn aside to follow myths.

Though Sha’ul was exhorting Timothy we all must heed his words. It is the knowledge of the Word that will preserve believers who trust in ADONAI from the corruption of the truth. Today there are religions that now accept sexual deviancy as the norm, supports the murdering of children as acceptable, and preaches that the some of the Word does not matter any more, placing us smack dab in the middle of the times that Sha’ul warned about where myths are more popular than truth. Keep to the Word, heed all of it and let it shape our spirit. ADONAI TZVA’OT, Lord of Host, encamp around my heart, mind and soul so that I do not wander from Your teaching. Keep me close at hand and remove temptation from me as I lean on Your salvation through Yeshua’s sacrifice. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Avoidance

2 Timothy 3:1-5
Moreover, understand this: in the acharit-hayamim will come trying times. People will be self-loving, money-loving, proud, arrogant, insulting, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, uncontrolled, brutal, hateful of good, traitorous, headstrong, swollen with conceit, loving pleasure rather than God, as they retain the outer form of religion but deny its power.
Stay away from these people!

As these times turn more and more like the days of Noach, where everyone just does what they think is right, we as believers must be extra careful. Sha’ul gives us a long list of people who we are to avoid. These are the hypocrites and slanderers of God’s Word. The people who play at religion, like the Pharisees making extra rules in worship so that they can feel good about themselves. As believers we are to flee from them and separate ourselves so we can focus on the truth of God’s Word. Abba You have kept me in the palm of Your hand with a believing congregation and strong men of faith. Let me learn from them and protect me from the babelers that come to destroy in seeking to make themselves popular. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Testify in Purity

2 Timothy 2:22-26
So, flee the passions of youth; and, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart, pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love and peace. But stay away from stupid and ignorant controversies—you know that they lead to fights, and a slave of the Lord shouldn’t fight. On the contrary, he should be kind to everyone, a good teacher, and not resentful when mistreated. Also he should be gentle as he corrects his opponents. For God may perhaps grant them the opportunity to turn from their sins, acquire full knowledge of the truth, come to their senses and escape the trap of the Adversary, after having been captured alive by him to do his will.

It is our individual testimonies as believers that will convince others to seek God, but only if we teach with kindness looking to uplift all people. We must give up the selfish dramas of nothing that we experienced as a teenager and proceed with the calmness of age knowing that ADONAI will use all for His purpose. Lord let me have the ability to always speak truth so that others might hear Your Word. Do not let me talk down or with a haughty spirit but let me words be steps that bring others to You. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Return to God

Joel 2:12-13
“Yet even now,” says ADONAI,
“turn to me with all your heart,
with fasting, weeping and lamenting.”
Tear your heart, not your garments;
and turn to ADONAI your God.
For he is merciful and compassionate,
slow to anger, rich in grace,
and willing to change his mind about disaster.

Written by the prophet Joel while the nation of Judah was besieged by natural disasters and invading armies. All because they had fallen away from ADONAI and no longer held His Word in their hearts. It is the same with us today, the farther our nation pulls itself away from God the more we experience food shortages, wildfires, earthquakes, plagues of insects and violence on a level that has never before been seen. Yet all of this can be removed if we humble ourselves, turn back to ADONAI and circumcise our hearts so that His Word through the sacrifice of Yeshua indwells in us. Lord let Your people recognize Your correction and come back into Your fold. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Commissioned

1 Timothy 6:13-14
I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before the Messiah Yeshua, who in his witness to Pontius Pilate gave the same good testimony, to obey your commission spotlessly and irreproachably until our Lord Yeshua the Messiah appears.

Just as Sha’ul charged Timothy with this statement, it falls to all of us who have accepted Yeshua as our saviour to complete our commissions that we are given in our salvation. It is in our commision, our gifting, that our strongest witness will go forth into the world so that others may come to know ADONAI. Lord keep me in the direction I must go to serve You. Do not let me waiver to the right or left but stay totally focused on You. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Light of Day

1 Timothy 5:24-25
The sins of some people are obvious and go ahead of them to judgment, but the sins of others follow afterwards. Likewise, good deeds are obvious; and even when they are not, they can’t stay hidden.

There is nothing that I have done in sin that has not be exposed to the light of day. Even the things that I have thought were buried so deep within me and my past that I forgotten that the event ever happened have come to light as ADONAI removes the layers of foulness I have put on myself in my worthless pursuit of selfish desires. As I seek to make restitution of these things the love of ADONAI and the good things that fellow believers have given me that I missed in my wallowing in selfishness is revealed, proving what Sha’ul wrote that while some sins are obvious and others come to light over time, the good that believers do will always be revealed as a witness for God. Lord let me always see where Your hand is at work not only in my life but in my community. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Work Diligently

1 Timothy 4:15-16
Be diligent about this work, throw yourself into it, so that your progress may be clear to everyone. Pay attention to yourself and to the teaching, continue in it, for by so doing you will deliver both yourself and those who hear you.

I have been diligent about a lot of things. I can get wrapped up in things that I find enjoyable or I see a reward at the end. Yet it wasn’t until I truly understood the overwhelming love of ADONAI through Yeshua’s sacrifice that I have dedicated myself to serving God. By following closely to His Word have I be able to deal with the setbacks and troubles of this life and come out better for it. Lord let my life always be an example for others to see Your love for them in everything You do. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Seek First

2 Chronicles 20:2-4
Y’hoshafat was told, “A huge army from beyond the [Dead] Sea, from Aram, is on its way to fight you; right now they are in Hatzatzon-Tamar” (that is, ‘Ein-Gedi). Y’hoshafat was frightened, so he determined to seek ADONAI. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Y’hudah, and Y’hudah assembled to seek help from ADONAI; they came from all the cities of Y’hudah to seek ADONAI.

When the whole nation comes together and seeks ADONAI, great things can happen. In this case Judah was delivered from the alliance of 3 kingdoms meant to destroy them. In our time who can know the blessings that God will provide if we just humble ourselves and pray. Lord let me always look to Your leadership in my life. Keep me from trusting my own understanding but to seek Your counsel in all things. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.
