Watchman

Matthew 24:24-27

24 For there will appear false Messiahs and false prophets performing great miracles — amazing things! — so as to fool even the chosen, if possible. 25 There! I have told you in advance! 26 So if people say to you, ‘Listen! He’s out in the desert!’ don’t go; or, ‘Look! He’s hidden away in a secret room!’ don’t believe it. 27 For when the Son of Man does come, it will be like lightning that flashes out of the east and fills the sky to the western horizon.

I believe this, when Yeshua returns there will be no doubt, no confusion, no dithering on who He is. There will be no question to his authority and it will line up with Torah. Anyone proclaiming anthing different is not from God. Keep watch and test everything in these days. Lord you have made me a watchman, keep me vigilant and focused on Your will in all I do. Amen.

Servanthood

Matthew 20:25-28

25 But Yeshua called them and said, “You know that among the Goyim, those who are supposed to rule them become tyrants, and their superiors become dictators. 26 Among you, it must not be like that. On the contrary, whoever among you wants to be a leader must become your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave! 28 For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve — and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Servant Leadership is what Yeshua demonstrated throughout the gospels. The willingness to humble oneself so that others may be lifted up. Lord remove any motive from my heart other than to serve you. Let your light fill my world and keep my own selfish desires from interfering with that. Amen

Simple

Matthew 18:2-5

2 He called a child to him, stood him among them, 3 and said, “Yes! I tell you that unless you change and become like little children, you won’t even enter the Kingdom of Heaven! 4 So the greatest in the Kingdom is whoever makes himself as humble as this child. 5 Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me;

Lord keep me simple in my trust, wholly focused on you.

Trust in God

Matthew 16:21-23

Complete Jewish Bible Matthew 16:21-23 From that time on, Yeshua began making it clear to his talmidim that he had to go to Yerushalayim and endure much suffering at the hands of the elders, the head cohanim and the Torah-teachers; and that he had to be put to death; but that on the third day, he had to be raised to life. Kefa took him aside and began rebuking him, “Heaven be merciful, Lord! By no means will this happen to you!” But Yeshua turned his back on Kefa, saying, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because your thinking is from a human perspective, not from God’s perspective!”

To many times I have been like Kefa (Peter) applying my own worldly view on how things must happen instead of trusting God. It is easy to see my own small piece of the puzzle but only Adonai can see the whole picture. Lord strengthen in me a trust to walk fully in your ways, help me from putting my view on everything but see it from and for Your glory only. Amen.

Preparing the way

Matthew 11:10

10 This is the one about whom the Tanakh says, ‘See, I am sending out my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way before you.’

God is ever faithful to us by preparing the way in that he would have us serve Him. We have only to exercise the trust we have in Adonai, the ground work is already done.

Trusting

Matthew 6:31-34

31 “So don’t be anxious, asking, ‘What will we eat?,’ ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘How will we be clothed?’ 32 For it is the pagans who set their hearts on all these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need them all. 33 But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Don’t worry about tomorrow — tomorrow will worry about itself! Today has enough tsuris already!

I am a short term planner. I look at a paycheck, figure out what has to go to bills then how much fun I can wring out of the rest. Before I started exercising my trust in Adonai I would always come up short. Then I guessed I took God at His Word and challenged Him to take care of me. I tithed on my gross for that paycheck, plus a little extra for offering, what was left was not enough for bills. Still all my bills did get paid, money miraculously appeared and I had enough for some fun too. From that moment on I have been a faithful tither not worring about my bills, and my and now my wifes needs have always been met, trust, show others love, God has us.

Winnowing

Matthew 3:12

12 He has with him his winnowing fork; and he will clear out his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn but burning up the straw with unquenchable fire!”

In this verse Yochanan the Imerser is describing what Yeshua was here to do. And even though Yeshua continually preached the love of Adonai, the price of that love was never to assimilate with sin, in fact it was and is and will be the complete opposite. So when people say coexist or there are many paths to holiness, they are lying. Lord fill me with your Ruach HaKodesh, your Holy Spirit so I can stand apart for you.

My witness

Job 42:3-6

3 “[You asked,] ‘Who is this, hiding counsel,
without having knowledge?’
Yes, I spoke, without understanding,
of wonders far beyond me, which I didn’t know.

4 “Please listen, and I will speak.
[You said,] ‘I will ask questions; and you, give me answers’ —
5 I had heard about you with my ears,
but now my eye sees you;
6 therefore I detest [myself]
and repent in dust and ashes.”

This is my testimony in a nutshell. Being raised by believing parents (praise God for that) I have often spoke with head knowledge but without any conviction or authority. It is only when Adonai opened my eyes to Yeshua’s sacrifice that I “saw” what salvation is and what believing trust is. Lord keep me in your will so that I may always serve you.

Seek Service

1 Corinthians 14:1-3

14 Pursue love!

However, keep on eagerly seeking the things of the Spirit; and especially seek to be able to prophesy. 2 For someone speaking in a tongue is not speaking to people but to God, because no one can understand, since he is uttering mysteries in the power of the Spirit. 3 But someone prophesying is speaking to people, edifying, encouraging and comforting them.

While we are to pursue love to let it fill our lives, we are not to stop seeking out things that will help the body of believers. It is with the gifts that we seek that will allow us to show the power of God’s love in our lives. So pursue love but seek also a way to apply that love.

Together

1 Corinthians 12:26

26Thus if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; and if one part is honored, all the parts share its happiness.

I am rereading this verse and it is just so plain to me, I don’t understand how people don’t get it. It is only together under the leadership of Adonai that this”One New Man” will bring peace in our lives, anything less missed the mark.
