1 John 1:6-7
If we claim to have fellowship with him while we are walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living out the truth. But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of his Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin.
The sin in our lives can only exist in the darkness of our souls. Having accepted Yeshua as our savior banishes darkness since it cannot exist in light and the world will see the change in our lives. if there is no change in character then there is no trust in God. Dear Lord don’t let my foolishness ever be a hindrance to another coming to know you. Convict fme so that I always stay true to Your Word and the salvation that is Yeshua ha Mashiach. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Psalms 105:1-5
 Give thanks to ADONAI! Call on his name!
Make his deeds known among the peoples.
Sing to him, sing praises to him,
talk about all his wonders.
Glory in his holy name;
let those seeking ADONAI have joyful hearts.
Seek ADONAI and his strength;
always seek his presence.
Remember the wonders he has done,
his signs and his spoken rulings.
Learning what ADONAI has done for us and others should always be a time of joyful sharing. As believers chase after all we can learn about Him. Abba thank You for sharing all Your wonders with us so we can have a view into Your love for us. Lord never let me lose the wonder of Your love. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Jeremiah 26:2-3
“ADONAI says: ‘Stand in the courtyard of ADONAI’s house and speak to the people from all the cities in Y’hudah who come to worship at ADONAI’s house; say everything I order you to say to them, and don’t leave out a word. Maybe they will listen, and each of them turn from his evil way; then I will be able to relent from the disaster I intend to bring on them because of how evil their deeds are.
Jeremiah was called not to the unsaved in the world but to the people of Judah. The very people who ADONAI had led out of Egypt and saved countless times from other nations. Yet even as they entered the very building that God said would be His footstool, following the religious rituals with no understanding they wallowed in their sin. It is the same for us today unless we take the time to listen to ADONAI and follow His Word then we are just following religious rituals with no meaning or effect. Abba let me always be focused on You and never lose the desire to hear Your Word for my life. Lord help me so that my actions always measure up to be worthy of following You. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

John 19:38-40
After this, Yosef of Ramatayim, who was a talmid of Yeshua, but a secret one out of fear of the Judeans, asked Pilate if he could have Yeshua’s body. Pilate gave his consent, so Yosef came and took the body away. Also Nakdimon, who at first had gone to see Yeshua by night, came with some seventy pounds of spices—a mixture of myrrh and aloes. They took Yeshua’s body and wrapped it up in linen sheets with the spices, in keeping with Judean burial practice.

Being a believer in Adonai is not easy. By placing our trust in Yeshua there will be times that we are tested just like Yosef and Nakdimon (Joseph and Nicodemus). Yet it is how we act in those times that determine if we refine or blemish our witness to others. I don’t know if I would have been as strong as these men at the crucifixion, I would like to think so but I also know how many times I have failed when put to the test. Abba I have tried often to be a good son, but only under my own will and not trusting fully in Yours. Forgive me for my shortcomings and strengthen me through Your Ruach so I may be like Yosef and Nakdimon who stood beside You even if it meant losing all. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Peace in Trouble

John 16:33
“I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom. In the world, you have tsuris. But be brave! I have conquered the world!”
I am still living apart in this world so yes I have troubles. Yet the time that I spend in prayer and studying Torah, Tanakh and the Brit Chadasha, the more peace I have during the troubles I am in. The more peace I have the less the troubles are. Abba thank You for giving me a time to trust in You. Lord thank You for the indwelling of Your Ruach to guide and comfort me. Adonai thank You for setting apart Yeshua so that I could be redeemed to You. Lord I praise You for all that You have given me. Amen.

John 15:15
I no longer call you slaves, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is about; but I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

While Yeshua was teaching his talmidim, the disciples, this is a word for us as well. Being friends or as Sha’ul says “joint heirs” we are entitled to everything Adonai had granted Yeshua, to walk this land with power and grace so others may come to know Him. As we see the worldly seem to overcome good we as believers need to remember and cling to this. Dear Lord I grieve over the senseless deaths and abuses that I have been made aware of this weekend. Abba please bring Your peace, Your Shalom, to this world. Let an outpouring of despair turn to a flood of rejoicing in Your name. I ask this all in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Jeremiah 7:28
Therefore, say to them,
‘This is the nation that has not listened
to the voice of ADONAI their God.
They won’t take correction; faithfulness has perished;
it has vanished from their mouths.
The very words we speak shows the condition of our hearts. If there is no contriteness, no compassion, no trustfulness, then we are a nation that is lost. Dear God don’t let your Ruach depart from me, keep me in Your will. Lord let me pause at all my words and ensure that they are proper for glorifying You. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Against the grain

John 12:42-43
Nevertheless, many of the leaders did trust in him; but because of the P’rushim they did not say so openly, out of fear of being banned from the synagogue; for they loved praise from other people more than praise from God.
Dear God how many times have I acted like the leaders of the people and said what I was expected to say and not stand up for Your Word in a world racing to get away from You. Abba keep instilling in me my worth so I will not be tempted to be a crowd pleaser but stand always with You and truth. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

John 11:35-36
Yeshua cried; so the Judeans there said, “See how he loved him!”
God cries over us, He joins us in our sorrows and brings comfort to us when there seems no hope in sight. I myself have experienced this aspect of His love more than I care to remember. We as believers should be willing to do the same, to mourn with the hurting until such time comfort comes through the Ruach. Lord give me the strength to cry with the people You put in my path as well as rejoice with them. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.
