Love

1 Corinthians 13:1

13 I may speak in the tongues of men, even angels;
but if I lack love, I have become merely
blaring brass or a cymbal clanging.

Anything I do that is not underpinned by my love of God is useless. It is only understanding His love for me and returning that love that I can express it to others.

Purity

Numbers 25:1-3

25 Isra’el stayed at Sheetim, and there the people began whoring with the women of Mo’av. 2 These women invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, where the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 With Isra’el thus joined to Ba‘al-P‘or, the anger of Adonai blazed up against Isra’el.

When Adonai has separated something as holy we cannot compromise with something worldly and still call it holy.

Prayer

Mark 6:46

46 After he had left them, he went into the hills to pray.

It has been a thing since I can remember “What Would Jesus (Yeshua) Do”. Well in amongst the teaching, saving, healing and feeding, he took time by Himself and prayed. I need that alone time with Adonai, I can fire off a blessing over food, I can pray in agreement with others for healing, but God help me to find that time where I can just press into You and be filled by the Ruach, the Spirit, You would have indwell in us. I ask this in Yeshua’s name Amen.

Father

Psalm 28:6-7

6 Blessed be Adonai,
for he heard my voice as I prayed for mercy.
7 Adonai is my strength and shield;
in him my heart trusted, and I have been helped.
Therefore my heart is filled with joy,
and I will sing praises to him.

Adonai is there for us always, we only have to seek him. Our prayers shouldn’t be flipant obligatory, but should be filled with trust that He will do what is best for us. It is under this covering as a loving Father we can rejoice. Lord keep me safely held in your hand. Chastise me when I start to pull away, encourage me to always seek Your face. Thank You for Your Torah which guides me in this world. Amen.

Seeking

Mark 4:22-23
22 Indeed, nothing is hidden, except to be disclosed; and nothing is covered up, except to come out into the open. 23 Those who have ears to hear with, let them hear!”
Understanding God’s Word will happen for everyone.  Those who claim it’s a mystery, or not of God, or not applicable today will have it disclosed to them, only I fear too late. Read your bible every day let God’s Word fill your heart, mind and soul, so that Adonai can reveal the person He would have you become.

Equality

Numbers 15:15-16

15 For this community there will be the same law for you as for the foreigner living with you; this is a permanent regulation through all your generations; the foreigner is to be treated the same way before Adonai as yourselves. 16 The same Torah and standard of judgment will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.’”

God’s Word is for everyone and will be applied to everyone equally. To the Jew first and then to the Nations. Why the Jews first, because Adonai picked them to be a priestly nation to lead the rest of the world to Him. Does that make the rest of us any less, no because Adonai said it is equall for all. As Sha’ul said trust in Yeshua’s sacrifice fulfills Torah and brings us in as joint heirs to the nationstate of Israel. Thank You Abba for giving us a word that stands as the rule for all.

Gossip

Mark 2: 16-17

16 When the Torah-teachers and the P’rushim saw that he was eating with sinners and tax-collectors, they said to his talmidim, “Why does he eat with tax-collectors and sinners?” 17 But, hearing the question, Yeshua answered them, “The ones who need a doctor aren’t the healthy but the sick. I didn’t come to call the ‘righteous’ but sinners!”

I have been that guy who have been asked questions about other people and I have been that guy gossiped about. These “leaders had lost their focus and were trying to discredit Yesshua to maintain their own religious power base. Gossip if not stopped immediately as Yeshua did will destroy a body of believers. Lord let me be strong enough and wise enough to not fall into the trap of gossip. Amen.

Worldliness

Numbers 11:4

4 Next, the mixed crowd that was with them grew greedy for an easier life; while the people of Isra’el, for their part, also renewed their weeping and said, “If only we had meat to eat!

Adonai has commanded us to be set apart from this world, for this very reason, when we get distracted with worldly things we forget all that God has done for us. The Nation of Israel has been liberated from Egypt by 11 great miracles, so great that people from other nations joined them. Yet these people have little to no knowledge of Adonai so they are the first to complain and lead the children of Israel into rebellion. When Yeshua summed up the Torah it was first love God with everything we have then love our neighbors as ourselves, believers in Adonai so they might come to know Him too. Lord let my trust in You be a mantle over me so that others may come to know You, and keep me from getting distracted with worldly things. I ask this in Yeshua’s name Amen.

Constant in the storm

Acts 27:35-37

35 When he had said this, he took bread, said the b’rakhah to God in front of everyone, broke it and began to eat. 36 With courage restored, they all ate some food themselves. 37 Altogether there were 276 of us on board the ship.

While eating restored the bodies, it was Sha’ul’s trust in Adonai and continuous prayers that witnessed to the 275 souls around him. God please let me be such a rock in times of trouble.

The Aharonic Benediction

Numbers 6:24-

24 ‘Y’varekh’kha Adonai v’yishmerekha. 25 Ya’er Adonai panav eleikha vichunekka. 26 Yissa Adonai panav eleikha v’yasem l’kha shalom.

“May Adonai bless you and keep you. May Adonai make his face shine on you and show you his favor. May Adonai lift up his face toward you and give you peace.”

The Aharonic benediction is how Adonai commanded Aharon to seal His name on the people of Israel after coming out of Egypt. I can’t explain it well but even when I read it I feel peace, in amongst the storms of daily life there is a refuge in God’s Word. Abba may I always hunger for your Word.
