Lip service

Luke 6:46

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ but not do what I say?”

Yeshua’s question still stands today. How can we say we believe in God and yet continue to do the selfish things that separates us from God? To serve ADONAI is to obey. How do we know what to obey, to study the Word and follow the teachings of Yeshua where he answered the Torah teacher we are to love ADONAI with all our heart, soul, strength and understanding and to love each other as ourselves. Everything in Torah and the prophets and the writings of the apostles point to this. Lord let me be worthy of not just saying You are Lord of my life but bear the fruit of that so there is no doubt. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

    1. Sorry but you are wrong. We remove ourselves from God when we sin. God is holy and cannot abide sin, in fact sin is destroyed in God’s presence. This is why Adam and Eve were removed from His presence in the garden, why Korach’s rebellion was swallowed up by the earth, and King Sha’ul was visited by evil spirits among others in the Word. Repeatedly in the Word people are separated from ADONAI for all eternity (Numbers 16:31-35) “The moment he finished speaking, the ground under them split apart— the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households, all the people who had sided with Korach and everything they owned. So they and everything they owned went down alive into Sh’ol, the earth closed over them and their existence in the community ceased. All Isra’el around them fled at their shrieks, shouting, “The earth might swallow us too!” Then fire came out from ADONAI and destroyed the 250 men who had offered the incense.” (Matthew 25:41-45) “Then he will also speak to those on his left, saying, ‘Get away from me, you who are cursed! Go off into the fire prepared for the Adversary and his angels! For I was hungry and you gave me no food, thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, a stranger and you did not welcome me, needing clothes and you did not give them to me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they too will reply, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, a stranger, needing clothes, sick or in prison, and not take care of you?’ And he will answer them, ‘Yes! I tell you that whenever you refused to do it for the least important of these people, you refused to do it for me!’ They will go off to eternal punishment, but those who have done what God wants will go to eternal life.”(Revelation 22:14-15) “How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! Outside are the homosexuals, those involved with the occult and with drugs, the sexually immoral, murderers, idol-worshippers, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”
