His will

Mark 8:31-33

Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and ruling kohanim and Torah scholars, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He was speaking openly about this. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But turning around and looking at His disciples, He rebuked Peter. He said, “Get behind Me, satan! You are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of men.”

There is no secret knowledge, no mystery about God’s Word, trust in Him and the sacrifice of His Son, Yeshua. It is when we act like Peter pulling people out of the light and trying to get them to conform to our personal idea of what should be and not God’s that is when we get in trouble. Adonai forgive me for I have acted like Kefah more times than I would like to count. Give me the correction and boldness that You have granted Your Talmidim so I can stay in Your will, I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Unison

Mark 6:4-6
Then Yeshua began saying to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his own house.” He was not able to do any miracle, except that He laid hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He was astonished because of their unbelief. And He was going around among the villages teaching.

The hardest person for me to pray over is my wife.  Don’t be confused I pray daily for her health and well being, but praying over and studying the Word with and doing good deeds with, it can be difficult.  My wife sees me 24/7 she knows all the bad that is in me as well as the good.  She knows all my thoughts about others because I don’t keep anything from her, and she knows how lazy I would like to be when dealing with the things of this world.  Yeshua did not suffer from past sin affecting His witness like I do, but the contempt of others because they had lived with Him day in and day out for 30 years and that familiarity stifled the work He could have done. Trust in Adonai has to be in both individuals from miracles to happen in the one Adonai is using for perform the miracle and the one Adonai wants to receive the miracle, it is when believers are in unison together that fantastic things happen.

Provision

Acts 28:10

They also heaped honors on us; and when we sailed, they put on board all the supplies we needed.

Sha’ul had lost everything except his compaions in the shipwreck on Malta. Yet through the provoking of the Ruach to the hearts of the people, his company was given the supplies they needed to complete the journey to Rome. God always grants provision for those operating in His will. I thank You Adonai for meeting my needs so that I can draw closer to You, amen.

Boldness

Acts 20:25-27

“Now, look! I know that none of you, among whom I have gone proclaiming the kingdom, will ever see my face again. Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all. For I did not shrink back from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

What a powerful statement Sha’ul, Paul, made.  I know for myself I have failed many times to stand this boldly for God, afraid of the reactions I might receive from my peers.  Abba, Father forgive me for not walking boldly in Your light.  Forgive me for the blood that is on my hands for failing to share Your Word which is Yeshua ha Mashiach, Jesus the Messiah and caving into the political correctness of this world.  Embolden me Lord as I feel this fire in me as I read of Your servant Sha’ul, inflame my heart with the same infilling You gave him.  I ask this all in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Acts vs Trust

Acts 15:1

Now some men coming down from Judea were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Outward actions of faith are useless without a circumcision of the heart. It is the change of heart and giving myself over to the full trust in Yeshua’s sacrifice that brings salvation. These outward signs of faith are nothing without that. Adonai keep me focused on You and Your Word, I ask in Yeshua’s name amen.

Knowing

Acts 13:27

For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers—not recognizing Him or the sayings of the Prophets that are read every Shabbat—fulfilled these words by condemning Him.

Knowing the Word is not enough, you have to apply it to your life and live it. The Sanhedren in Yeshua’s time failed to do that and fell into sin. Lord keep me in Your will, write Your Word on my heart and give me courage to live by it. I ask this in Yeshua’s name amen.

Water

Job 8:11-13

Can papyrus grow tall without a marsh?
Can reeds flourish without water?
When still in bloom and uncut,
it withers more quickly than other grass.
Such are the ways of all who forget God;
the hope of the godless perishes

No matter one’s roots, without God in our life we either and dry up just like the reeds. It is only through the living water of Yeshua’s sacrifice that we flourish. Thank You Abba for Yor gift of life through Your Son. Amen.

The Storm

Acts 11:19-21

Now those scattered because of the persecution that happened in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, telling the message only to Judeans. However, there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Hellenists also, proclaiming the Lord Yeshua. The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord…

There is nothing bad that Adonai cannot use ultimately for good.  The murder of Stephen led to the fleeing of believers from Jerusalem, yet also to the spreading of the Word to all the nations.  Sha’ul reminds us of that in Romans 8:28 “Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”  In my own life I have had personal setbacks that have led to a greater dependence on God and so a greater reward.  The worst of these was the death of my first wife, but yet it broke me out of a life of lukewarmness to a life of service that brings rewards and surprises almost everyday.  Dear God thank You for Your trials, Your refining to improve my character so that I may always stand in honor of You.  Keep me in Your will and let my name remain in Your book of Life. I ask this all in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Partners

Acts 9:26-27

When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he made attempts to join up with the disciples—but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him in and brought him to the emissaries. He described to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and the Lord had spoken to him, and how he had spoken boldly in the name of Yeshua.

If we are truly doing the work of God, He will provide support. Saul because of his past actions was not accepted by the body in Jerusalem until Barnabas stood up for him. In the same way if we stand boldly for God and all he does for us He will provide the way to which we are called.
