With God the possible is found in the impossible

M’lakhim Alef (1 Kings) 17:22-24

ADONAI heard Eliyahu’s cry, the child’s soul came back into him, and he revived. Eliyahu took the child, brought him down from the upstairs room into the house and gave him to his mother; and Eliyahu said, “See? Your son is alive.” The woman replied to Eliyahu, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of ADONAI that you speak is the truth.”

This woman and her son had already experienced supernatural salvation through the never-ending pot of meal and jug of oil, yet it was only when her son was restored to her that she knew she was in the presence of the man of God and that what he said was straight from God in Heaven. Just like Iyov she walked and lived in the supernatural day after day as others around her and her family starved but didn’t fully understand the power of God until she saw the impossible become real. My heart breaks for those who cannot see the possible in the impossible around them. So cluttered with the noise of catastrophe they fail to see the Hand of God moving for them. Lord open our eyes and our hearts so we can full understanding and know You are the God of all! I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

National Sin

Vayikra (Leviticus) 4:13

“‘If the entire community of Isra’el inadvertently makes a mistake, with the assembly being unaware of the matter, and they do something against any of the mitzvot of ADONAI concerning things which should not be done, they are guilty.”

There is such a thing as national sin, where the whole country is punished for rebelling against ADONAI.  I look at society today and as a nation it seems to me, we daily seek out ways to offend God.  Men and women pretending to be the opposite of what they actually are, the normalization of homosexuality, the continued push to decriminalize pedophilia, our failure as a nation to care for the widow and orphan and the foreigner seeking a better life and all of this is done intentionally not inadvertently in open defiance of ADONAI.  Is it any wonder we suffer the plagues of Egypt and supernatural storms that wipe out whole areas of the country and still we are stiff necked people.  We must be like the people of Nineveh and repent no matter what our leaders do.  This must be a grass roots revival where leaders follow the people so that there can truly be healing in our land.  Lord let my prayer be for the great revealing of Your Word as embodied in Yeshua be blazed across not just America but the world for all to see Your glory.   I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

There is always a warning

Sh’mot (Exodus) 4:21-23

ADONAI said to Moshe, “When you get back to Egypt, make sure that you do before Pharaoh every one of the wonders I have enabled you to do. Nevertheless, I am going to make him hardhearted, and he will refuse to let the people go. Then you are to tell Pharaoh: ‘ADONAI says, “Isra’el is my firstborn son. I have told you to let my son go in order to worship me, but you have refused to let him go. Well, then, I will kill your firstborn son!”‘”

When ADONAI brings judgement, He always gives warning like He did for Moshe before Moshe ever set foot back in Egypt.  We must be attentive as Moshe to hear and heed the warnings so we can be kept in the cleft of the rock covered by the hand of God when they happen.  Lord let me always set aside the time to hear from You and follow the provoking of Your Ruach in my life to bring Your kingdom forward.

Hold to the promise

B’resheet (Genesis) 50:24-26

Yosef said to his brothers, “I am dying. But God will surely remember you and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya’akov.” Then Yosef took an oath from the sons of Isra’el: “God will surely remember you, and you are to carry my bones up from here.” So Yosef died at the age of 110, and they embalmed him and put him in a coffin in Egypt.

Yosef never forgot the promise ADONAI made to Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya’akov. That the descendants of Is’rael would live in the land of promise. And though the frailties of this live overcame him, he made sure that some part of him would partake in God’s promise. I also believe that he extracted this promise so that the nation would not become so accustomed to their life in Egypt and that the people would forget the covenant God had made with their forefathers. It is the same for us now as believers, we are but strangers in a strange land biding our time until we can once again return to the embrace of God forever, and like Yosef’s promise we have the Word to bind us to that new world as long as we keep our focus on God. Lord let me never loose sight of Your plan for Your people in this time and the time to come. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Man cannot overcome God

B’resheet (Genisis) 21:22-24

At that time Avimelekh and Pikhol the commander of his army spoke to Avraham. They said, “God is with you in everything you do. Therefore, swear to me here by God that you will never deal falsely with me or with my son or grandson; but according to the kindness with which I have treated you, you will treat me and the land in which you have lived as a foreigner. Avraham said, “I swear it.”

Even though ADONAI had spoken directly to Avimelekh and kept him from sinning with Sarah, even though Avimelekh had a concept of sin as an affront to God, and even though Avimelekh had been told by ADONAI that Avraham was His prophet, Avimelekh could only think to speak to Avraham from a place of worldly power ensuring the commander of his army stood by him and they spoke in unity to extract a promise of Avraham. It has been the same through history, leaders of men not understanding the power of ADONAI T’Zavot, the God of Heaven’s Armies, seeking by force of arms to bend the will of God’s anointed. Even today believers are persecuted in the courts as organizations trying to force a humanist lifestyle on those who trust in ADODAI, or the political indifference like the Jackson New Jersey’s Police Chief Matthew Kunz and Mayor Michael Reina’s refusal to investigate the multiple incidents of vandalism at Beth Zion Messianic Jewish synagogue as the hate crime that it is, to the outright violence of Hamas and other Iranian backed militias. Yet any who come against God’s anointed will fail and as Sha’ul wrote in his letter to the Romans God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God. Lord, let me be as tolerant as Avraham when dealing with people who don’t understand Your power of salvation and forgiveness that You have shown the world through Yeshua. Let all my promises have their foundation in Your Word. I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.

Know the Whole Word!

Yochanan (John) 8:39-40

They answered him, “Our father is Avraham.” Yeshua replied, “If you are children of Avraham, then do the things Avraham did! As it is, you are out to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Avraham did nothing like that!

How can I know the things that Avraham did, if I don’t study the Torah?  Yeshua’s very words again point to the whole Word of God as being vital to have written on our hearts.  These learned men of the Sanhedrin could not see the truth of what they study because of their own selfish sinful self-importance allowing the corruption of God’s Word in their hearts.  Lord let my trust follow Yeshua who understood Your hand upon His life in every moment and did not bring corruption to Your Word.  I ask this in Yeshua’s name, amen.
